School Field Trips
School tours will run from Sept 3 to Oct 30
Meckley’s Flavor Fruit Farm is the perfect destination for your students to enjoy a fun-filled time learning about agriculture, nature and farm life. During the tour students will learn about Michigan agriculture, apple, pumpkin and corn production, conservation and how humans interact with the environment. We will also discuss the food supply, food health and safety, goods and services as well as careers and pathways. The tours will be age/grade specific and appropriate, based on standards and benchmarks. They are grouped into K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 programs.
Students will tour our bakery and cider barn, and learn about the process of making cider and donuts. They will also take a wagon ride around the orchard and farm to see and learn about the apple trees and the crops we grow and how we produce them here at Flavor Fruit Farm.
Each student will receive a doughnut, a cup of cider and a packet of fun and informational handouts they can take home with them. Apple picking is also included in the fall.
